Fairbanks Morse Defense announces the opening of a new service center in Guam to enhance support for the U.S. Navy’s Pacific operations. This strategic expansion strengthens the company's commitment to providing exceptional, on-the-ground services, ensuring that naval fleets have the resources they need to reinforce the operational effectiveness of naval forces worldwide.
Fairbanks Morse Defense field service technicians will be operating from a site strategically located to serve U.S Navy ships docked at Naval Base Guam. This enables the defense supplier to provide maintenance, repair, and technical support directly where it is needed most, reducing response times and ensuring optimal fleet performance in the Pacific theater.
Located in the Western Pacific, Guam plays a major role in U.S. naval operations by hosting key military bases that ensure regional readiness amid growing geopolitical challenges in the Indo-Pacific and rising tensions in the South China Sea. Its proximity to critical operational areas makes it an essential hub for sustaining naval forces and maintaining fleet preparedness.
“This expansion aligns with Fairbanks Morse Defense’s mission to deliver the highest level of service wherever and whenever our customers need us,” said George Whittier, CEO of Fairbanks Morse Defense. “Guam’s strategic importance to U.S. naval operations in the Pacific cannot be overstated, and having a presence there ensures we can provide critical maintenance and repair services that meet fleet readiness and operational effectiveness.”
